At Take the Leap, we are dedicated to curating thoughtful, balanced, and high-quality social experiences. Due to limited capacity and high demand, we have a waitlist system in place to manage registrations fairly and ensure the best possible environment at our events.

This page outlines the reasons participants may be placed on a waitlist, how selection works, and what to expect throughout the process.

When Do We Use a Waitlist?

You may be placed on the waitlist under the following circumstances:

1. Event is Full

  • All available slots have been filled.

  • A waitlist is opened incase any confirmed attendees cancel or withdraw.

2. Waitlist-Based Events

  • Some premium or exclusive events are waitlist-only.

  • No upfront confirmations are given.

  • Participants are selected based on compatibility, event goals, and balance needs.

3. Profile Balance Requirements
If you register close to the event date, we may place you on the waitlist, even if your profile is suitable.
Your profile may be temporarily waitlisted even if slots are available, in order to preserve the overall event dynamic. Common reasons include:

  • Age discrepancy: If your age is more than 3 years older or younger than the event's average age group.

  • Gender balance: To maintain an even or proportional mix of genders.

  • Social or personality balance: To ensure diversity and avoid overwhelming dominance by any single profile type.

4. Late Registration
If you register close to the event date, we may place you on the waitlist, even if your profile is suitable.

How Waitlist Selection Works

  • The waitlist is not first-come, first-served.

  • Our team reviews the waitlist regularly and matches openings with participants who best fit the event’s current needs.

  • Priority is given to those already on the waitlist before opening up the slot to the public again.

If You’re Selected
Should a spot open up and your profile be selected:

  • You will receive a whatsapp message from our team (so please make sure you gave us the correct number 🥲)

  • Depending on the situation, you will be given a max. of 24 hours to complete payment and confirm your attendance.
    For last-minute invites (e.g. the morning of the event), payment must be made before the event begins to secure your spot.

  • If we do not receive payment or a response in time, we will offer the spot to the next suitable person.

Important Note: Only selected individuals will be contacted. If you do not hear from us, this means either the event remained full, or your profile was not selected for the final guest list.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Yes, can! You’re totally allowed to join the waitlist for multiple events.
    Each waitlist works on its own, so being on one doesn’t affect your chances with another. More chances, more fun!

  • Good question! Right now, there’s no button for you to remove yourself (yet).
    But if you get contacted and decide not to attend, just let us know - we’ll happily pass your spot to someone else waiting.

  • We only reach out when a spot opens up.
    If you don’t hear from us, it means there weren’t any changes this round but we haven’t forgotten you!
    You’ll still be on the waitlist in case anything opens up later.

  • Until the event happens, or until you let us know you want to be removed.
    Some people get called in last-minute, so it’s worth staying on if you’re still keen!

  • Nope - waitlist is free! You only pay if you’re offered a spot and confirm you’re attending.
